Viceregal Tower of Capo di Conca at sunset;
in this photo, the cold blue of the sky contrasts nicely with the green of the vegetation and the warm light aimed at the tower;
the tower, located in the town of Conca dei Marini, on the Amalfi coast, is one of the hundreds of towers built by the Angevins in the fourteenth century, to defend against Saracens and pirates, along the coasts of Southern Italy. The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline in Tyrrhenian Sea, located between the Gulf Of Naples and the Gulf Of Salerno in the Southern Italy.
In 1997, the Amalfi Coast was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
